awesome local pricing for great food. have been multiple times. a welcome addition to napa. regarding past posts about the service...the place has been packed since day one and of course there will be growing pains. i've experienced it, but the staff has always been cool and apologetic.

I've been here twice for the omakase, and both times were fantastic. The 10-piece nigiri was definitely fulfilling, while the 12-piece left me stuffed. The fish on the nigiri is generously sliced. If you order the 10-piece sashimi, you'll end up with more than 10 pieces (no complaints here!). Plus, both times we received a complimentary miso soup or edamame while waiting for our meal. The sushi rolls were mid--too much rice for my liking. I'll be back for more omakase but not for the rolls. Highly recommend!

We had an excellent meal (lunch) at Amami Sushi this past weekend. It was quiet when we arrived-- likely due to the fact that Bottlerock was in full swing. I have been eating sushi for 59 years, so I am a fan of the traditional Tekka Maki roll, which they do really well. We also had the Rock and Roll which was also good. The Chicken Karaage was a little overcooked and tough. Another favorite of mine is Miso Soup, which again, they do very well with green onions. My favorite. We will be back soon

Napa has quite a few sushi spots, but not many of them are really good, casual for locals, and don't break the bank. This one hits all three. Honestly some of the freshest sushi I've ever had, all of the rolls we got had unique flavors, and the presentation was beautiful. We popped in on a Saturday night around 8pm following a rush, sat immediately and were served our plates within 20 minutes. Really looking forward to going back and trying more rolls and sashimi.

came in as soon as they opened! the appetizers were all good - i appreciate that their spicy mayo sauce packs a bit of heat, typically other places have a faint spice. though i will say their fried calamari comes in a smaller portion than expected. i had the romeo & juliet roll. the scallops were so soft! although it's only eight pieces, they're cut pretty thick (nearly thick enough that it's difficult to chew in one bite). service was quick and friendly. would definitely come back!

We went on a Monday around 5:30 and were seated promptly. We took our own wine as did many others due to the no corkage policy, while they wait for their liquor license. Food: Hamachi jalapeño crudo-very tasty and presented nicely. Rainbow roll-good but the rice fell apart easily and the cuts were uneven. Snow White roll-good but again the rice fell apart and the cuts were uneven. In all, they have very fresh fish. I have one issue that I will contact the restaurant directly about. I would go for the sushi again. No corkage is nice. Maybe they will keep that policy in place when they get their liquor license.

My new affordable sushi spot in Napa! I am a HUGE sushi fan so anytime a new sushi spot comes into town, we have to go! Amami did not disappoint, in fact, we've already gone twice and I crave it regularly! Aesthetic - 7/10 Very simplistic, minimalistic, modern, with two televisions, one likely playing Anime and the other has sushi/seafood making television. TBH, they could use some panels to absorb some of the noise in there when it gets loud because I've found myself yelling a few times but that's not why we go! Staff - 10/10 We love all of the staff there so far! From the host, to the servers, to the sushi chefs, everyone is so friendly and ready to recommend new things to try. My fiancé is getting more into sushi so it's important for him to get a little extra guidance and they are happy to provide recs! Our order: - Edamame - Admittedly, it's a little overcooked. The outer shell is soft and mushy sometimes and they could definitely benefit from some salt flakes on top! The price is great and the beans themselves are still delicious! - Miso soup - I am THRILLED to have a spot with cheap, delicious miso! I always crave miso before sushi and theirs does not disappoint. - Chicken Kara-age - YUM and also such a healthy serving! Definitely will be ordering again! - Vegetable tempura - So so good and such a healthy portion! Just wish it came with more sauce. - Supa Spicy Roll - Decently hot as the name implies but seriously delicious and creative! - Polar Bear Roll - Fresh, delicious, and a spicy kick to boot! - Spicy Tuna Roll - Such a classic, beautifully done! Let's be real, we will likely be hitting up this new sushi spot 2-3 times per month! Highly recommend!

I was so pleasantly surprised by our new Sushi Restaurant in town! We were greeted right away by the friendly hostess and sat at the wrap around bar and took a look at their menu while simultaneously watching the chefs expertly prep and slice away to make the rolls. I'm always a little off put when the majority of a sushi menu is tempura options, (we want the fresh rolls!) Not to worry, they had a good variety and plenty of baked, raw, spicy and veggie options! My partner doesn't eat seafood so he had the veggie sushi and was so happy with how they really cared to make it delicious. ( I'll be taking my vegetarian sister here now!) The chefs and rest of staff look over even in the busy atmosphere to make sure you love your roll, which was so cool to me. One thing to note is they do not have a liquor license so bring a bottle or buy one before. The corkage fee is.... Wait for it.... FREE! So cool. And I can't believe I made it this far without mentioning the prices. The rolls range from $8-$15. For being in downtown Napa, it is so so nice to have an affordable, casual, good quality Sushi Restaurant.

We had an amazing dining experience at this new Japanese restaurant in downtown Napa, located at the old Hal Hamashita spot. Amami is known for its exceptional fresh fish and a wide selection of delicious sushi rolls, all at affordable prices ranging from $16 to $18. Although I'm not a fan of sushi rolls, I must commend the incredible sashimi platter we ordered. For $60, we received 10 pieces of sashimi, including uni with caviar on top, two types of tuna (including the mouthwatering otoro), and more. The quality and quantity exceeded our expectations, as the owner and chef, Alan, believes in providing a little extra for their customers. We also enjoyed the option of transforming the smaller sushi rolls, like the spicy hamachi roll priced at $9, into incredibly fresh and flavorful handrolls. Another standout dish was the jalapeno hamachi, prepared in the style of Nobu, for just $14. The price for such high-quality fish was very reasonable. To top it off, the miso soup was only $3. Needless to say, we will definitely be returning to Amami for another delightful evening.
